Several
animals of this color were imported, but it is not at all common now. The
animal is black with white under the body. Often a black Alpine with the
white markings found on a Toggenburg is call sundgau also. |

This
is a name that has developed in this country for the Alpine that has white
frontquarters and brown or grey hindquarters. In some parts of the country
this is also called cou blanc, but it is felt that the name should refer
to only the black and white Alpines. Two-tone chamoisee could also be an
Alpine with tan front quarters and brown hindquarters. |
