Lanes-End Alvin's Percilla
American Alpine
dob: 4-08-01
Cou Clair

(Died July 2007, possible overeating/toxemia situation...during our county fair)

Cameron and Percilla, still going strong in the show ring in 2006...at the Kansas State Fair, Percilla was not only the GCH Senior Alpine Doe (milked out in this picture) but was named the Best Doe In Show, as well. Cameron won the Kansas State Fair intermediate showmanship class with
Percilla also...what a pair!

Percilla finished her Championship at a tough AGS/ADGA sanctioned weekend (over 750 entrants) in Stillwater, OK, June 26, 27 2005. She went Grand under judge Tecoa Siebert (pictured) on Saturday, and again on Sunday, under judge Pat Hendrickson to clinch her permanent Champion status. Thank you, Anna Lane, Walnut, KS, for breeding this fine doe and for selling her to Cameron as a 4-H project. She is much loved and has become the well-honored matriarch of our herd.

Cameron and Percilla became a winning combination during the 2004 show season. Percilla earned her first GCH leg that year, at the Kansas Carousel show in Abilene, KS. Cameron gained confidence in showmanship with Percilla at his side (Tonganoxie, KS show, bottom, right) and the pair has not been defeated in showmanship since.

 Showmanship Winners!!!

Percilla is a classic beauty. She's got it all - length, width, correct feet and legs, mammary, and style. We were unable to get Percilla settled for 2007, but are happy to have two earlier daughters in the herd, Trinity (due in August), and Violet (fresh with a beautiful udder in March). Percilla will get a well deserved vacation from the rigors of showring and milk production this summer.

Journey’s-End Elegant
Purebred French Alpine - DOB 6/1/0/93
(Died September 2007, due to old age infirmaties had to be put to sleep - age 14!)

2003 Kansas State Fair 4-H Dairy Goat Show - Journeys End Elegant, Grand Champion Alpine and BEST DOE IN SHOW!!! She's still going strong at ten years of age. Shown by Grady Stultz under judge Timothy Ness, MN.

Grady and Ellie
(BDIS at the Marion Co. Fair - 2001, milked out)

Ellie is the grand dam of the herd, still going strong at 14-years-of-age! She has been many times Grand Champion and RGCH, but many shows were 4-H or restricted. She has two official GCH legs and lives up to her name of elegance, with strong correct lines, an exquisite mammary system, and correct feet and legs. She is not a heavy producer, nor is she a large doe, but she is the correct type of doe we believe in and is very consistent in milk productions as well as sometimes having two kidding seasons per year. What a gal! Ellie freshened late January with a beautiful single cou blanc doeling, Xcellent. Sired by Gravel-Ends APS/D Vladimir, she will be retained in the herd.

Vassajara' Prizm
DOB 2/28/02

VEVV 88
Deep Bay with correct black markings

Prizm came from CA to KS May 2003 and has met or exceeded our expectations in the milk room with DHIR lactactions always over 2,200 lbs. She averaged milk tests weights in the 12-14 lb. daily. In the show ring, Prizm was usually a close second to Prudence and has several RGCH awards. She was the GCH Oberhasli in the 2003 Kansas State Fair 4-H division, but the award was unofficial. Prizm freshend 1/4/04 with twins, Tammie and Titan. She had a beautiful single doeling, Valentine, in 2005 and in 2006 produced awesome AI twins, Sir Walter and Spring Waltz (sire: White-Haven Sousa). Prizm died unexpectedly late 2006. We are so glad to have retained Waltz in our herd to carry on her exquisite nature, productivity and beautiful type.

Vassajara's Priscilla
DOB 3/15/02

VVEV 88
Red Bay with correct black markings
(Died August 2007, had been sold, died at new owner's place, cause unknown)

Priscilla and her half-sisters Prizm and Prudence (see below), were new additions to our dairy herd in May 2003 and have certainly raised the bar on quality in our herd. All three were part of the first place Sr. Get of Sire winners (*B White Haven Precentor) at the 2003 Kansas State Fair in September. All three also earned Precentor his + award for their 2003 DHIR milk production awards.

Priscilla is deep and wide (and that's putting it mildly) and has a gorgeous head. Her flame red color sets her apart and we love her laid back personality and steady production. She has had many quality kids for our herd, all which have been sold into other top Oberhasli herds where they continue to make positive contributions to breed type and production. Priscilla's triplets in 2004 were two bucklings and a doe: Thaddeus, Theodore, and Thora. In 2005 Priscilla had beautiful twins: Valisha and Valor. 2006 brought nice twin bucklings: Wichita and Wizard. We retained Wizard for use in our own herd. We are still waiting to see what Priscilla will have in 2007, bred late to Ceder Grace Vincent Rose (grandson of Vassajara's Prizm)...to freshen in June.
